I am a Certified Trauma Recovery Coach through The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching, and have a Master's degree in education. The International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching certification involves a six-month intensive course of trauma education via live classes and study, trauma coaching instruction and evaluation, personal trauma recovery work, applied homework assignments, a case study, and an exit exam.
I am Level II trained with the Natural Lifemanship equine-assisted services training program, a total of 7 months of instruction and practice. The coursework includes instructor evaluation of my equine work, consultation on a client case study, and written exams.
I have 43 years of teaching experience via K-12 public school classroom teaching and evaluation, private instruction, parenting, and mentoring roles with adults and youth. I have taught in the fields of Special Education, Spanish, mathematics, bilingual education, speakers of English as a foreign language, and mental health and addiction recovery. Most importantly, I have recovered from trauma myself.
